Valentine Day memory, first rose

While in grade 10, a guy junior to Keki had offered a rose to her on the Valentine Day. With the rose, he had also handed over a love letter. Keki was so nervous, she didn’t hear what the guy had to say her. She threw both the love letter and the rose and ran away.

Although she didn’t accept the proposal, she was very scared on that day. She was afraid if anybody has seen them and would spread a rumor. She wondered how the guy might have felt after the incident. (Summarized from Nagariknews)

Democracy Day !

Keki Adhikari’s ananysis:

***

We fought for the democracy and achieved it, or did we completely?.. as it’s been more than 6 decades and the fight is still on. We are still fighting to ensure our rights, our security, and our rightful places in the society,in the law. And this continued fight more than increases the importance of this day- “Falgun 7” for us, Nepalis. Our ancestors created this fire of democracy which has been since then providing us with the necessary warmth, and it is our duty not to let that fire die out.

We instantly connect democracy with freedom, and freedom starts from our minds. To maintain this democracy we first need to be “free in mind”; need to free our minds of unnecessary social obligations, prejudices and need to be free to Express.

Let us proudly celebrate “Our Democracy Day”!!
